We welcomed dozens of area business owners to LUMBERYARD last night to meet and mingle with fellow Hudson Valley entrepreneurs.
The first-of-its-kind event, which we co-hosted with chambers of commerce from Greene, Columbia and Rhinebeck counties, connected businesses crucial to Hudson Valley’s economy.
Together, we share the goal of supporting Hudson Valley’s economic and cultural growth.
What guests saw
We were proud to offer a tour of our Catskill space before the first stage of its transformation into a performing arts campus begins next week.
Last night’s guests caught a glimpse of the main building that will be renovated to include:
- A state-of-the-art 5,000 square-foot flexible theater
- Artist residences
- Dressing rooms
- Practice spaces
Several sponsors helped make our Tri-County Mixer a success. Many thanks to Crossroads Brewing Co., Hetta Glogg and Hudson Chatham Winery.
Catskill’s creative economy gaining momentum
New boutiques, restaurants, galleries and a cafe have opened in Catskill in the two years since LUMBERYARD purchased its property.
Down the street, Crossroads Brewing Co.’s taproom last month welcomed its first patrons.
The buzz is beginning to build: in 2016, New York Times described our area as “a New Mecca for Artisans.”
Earlier this year, Catskill was also named as a top travel destination that is right now experiencing a “vacation revival.”
About LUMBERYARD
Ask any NYC performing artist and they’ll tell you how hard it is finding space to make their performance ideas a reality.
LUMBERYARD’s Catskill campus will be the first residential facility in the U.S. to provide performance artists with space and technical support that culminate in out-of-town openings.
While the first phase of our construction begins next week, we’re still raising funds to support a key component of next phase: raising the main building’s roof by 20 feet.
