A creative couple who recently chose Catskill, N.Y. as the base for their web development agency is supporting LUMBERYARD with a sponsorship for our May 7 Groundbreaking Celebration.
We’ve enjoyed getting to know Akemi Hiatt and Paolo Vidali of Hidden Gears whose office is on Catskill, N.Y.’s Main Street.
The soon-to-be married couple recently shared with us their enthusiasm for creative life in the Hudson Valley.
Akemi, who has worked in marketing for a number of cultural organizations throughout upstate over the past 7 years, told us: “In Hudson Valley, people understand how arts and culture support everything else in a community.
“People come to Hudson Valley to do great things.”
Paolo, a developer who is originally from Syracuse and has also worked throughout the Valley, is impressed by the collective efforts of Catskill entrepreneurs.
“Catskill is under-recognized for its charms,” Paolo said.
“It takes blocks and blocks of business owners to make a town thrive. We find Catskill, N.Y. inspiring.”
LUMBERYARD agrees on all counts and consider ourselves lucky to have such talented neighbors.
Hidden Gears specializes in designing and building websites that connect companies and brands with their consumers.
If you’re looking for a beautiful website, especially one with e-commerce functionality, Hidden Gears is a team well worth considering for the job.
Paolo is well-known in tech circles and is respected for his know-how as a full stack developer — someone who can build the public-facing part of a site as well as the mechanics to make it complete sophisticated tasks.
Creative director Akemi, who was born in Hawaii, is a trained photojournalist and experienced digital marketer. Her expertise breaths life into the sites Paolo builds; Akemi designs the look-and-feel of the agency’s digital products and also develops the digital marketing campaigns associated with each site.
Be sure to introduce yourselves to Paolo and Akemi at our May 7 event.
We’re looking forward to having you there.
